Marshall Medical Center North’s August Baby of the Month: Dansby James Ross

We are thrilled to introduce our August Baby of the Month — sweet Dansby Ross! Born on August 11th at 7:01 a.m., Dansby weighed 7 pounds 12 ounces and measured 20 inches long. He is the cherished son of Brandy and Tyler Ross, and the much-anticipated little brother to 8-year-old Everlee.

When asked why she chose to deliver at Marshall Medical Centers North, Brandy’s answer came from the heart:

“This place is more than just a hospital. It’s a small community family-type feel that makes all the difference in the world when you are delivering. I feel like I get the best possible care here. Everyone is so compassionate. They make sure I’m well taken care of and have everything that I need. All the physicians are great. They really listen to your concerns. It just makes for a wholesome experience you don’t get everywhere else.”

Throughout the interview, big sister Everlee’s excitement was impossible to miss. This was her very first sibling, and she already had big plans for her new role:

“I’ll try to be there for him and help out and try to calm him down when he cries. I’m most excited that there is someone I can snuggle with, and someone I can always be with.”

Brandy shared that Everlee has already been an amazing big sister — from changing diapers to burping him and showering him with love.

“When we told her we were pregnant, she literally started crying and said, ‘I’ve literally been waiting my whole life for this!’” Brandy recalled.

Family support has been a huge part of Brandy’s journey.

“When my water broke, I texted and within two seconds everybody was asking, ‘What can we do? What do you need?’” she said.

Tyler, who was at work coming home from Morgan City, was already passing through Guntersville when Brandy called.

“He might have driven a little over the speed limit to get to me, then back to the hospital,” Brandy laughed. “It makes all the difference in the world to have a good support system. I don’t have to worry about my house or anything because I know everything is being taken care of.”

Brandy also had heartfelt advice for new moms considering where to deliver:

“I would say to choose Marshall Medical Centers. This place is more than a hospital. This is where you come to get exceptional, high-quality patient-centered care. You’re treated as more than just a patient number. Whether things go good or bad, the nurses go out of their way to make sure you’re taken care of. Your concerns are heard and validated. They go above and beyond, and you just don’t get that everywhere else.”

Congratulations to the Ross family on the arrival of baby Dansby! We are honored to have been a part of such a special time in your lives.
